In fact, if you choose to become an entrepreneur because you want to run away from the lots of hour of work in a regular job, then entrepreneurship is the wrong way to go, cause you might just need to work double.
While entrepreneurship gives use a lot of freedom in various aspects, freedom from work is not one of them.
Also since most of us are the first in our immediate environment to decide to go down this road, we some times lack any immediate role models.
Someone whom you can learn from their mistakes and failures.
For the entrepreneurial road is filled with a lot of these.

I have listened and relistened to this book, numerous times.
I decided to get this book when I heard Bigsean, a very successful hip-hop artist sing its praises.
Wait, no, I first heard Mic Posner, another successful musician, and poet, mentioned in an interview that this book was recommended to him by Big Sean and he really loved it.
Then I heard Big Sean talk about this book on the breakfast club.
Oh, no, before that I had read Mel Robbin’s book, the 5-second rule and this was one of the books she recommended.
And as the days go by, I hear so many people talking about the awesomeness that is this book
This book by Paulo Coelho talks about a boy who dreamed of his treasure and decided to travel miles to find this treasure.
He then got to his destination, after facing numerous trials and life-changing challenges on the road, only to realize that his treasure was back home.
In a place where he had spent numerous nights.
This book reminds us that all we need is right where we are now.
There is no need to wait to get more money, opportunities, etc.
Just start now, you have all you need.
2. The 4 hour work week
This book is written by Tim Ferriss.
Who is a podcaster, an entrepreneur, early-stage tech startup investor, and author?
In this book, Tim Ferris takes us through his journey of becoming an entrepreneur.
The challenges he faced in his first business ventures.
Challenges which led to so much stress and lots more work than he signed up for or wanted.
Then he decided to take a break, and see if the business could still strive with his absence.
And surprisingly it did.
In this book, he shows us how we could run a successful business and still have enough time and freedom to travel the world.
Arianna Huffington, the founder of the Huffington post wrote this book in order to talk about some mistakes she made on her journey to success.
She talks about some of the things she wished she knew before she began.
She talks about mistakes she made which almost caused her life.
Then she goes on to tell us some of the things we can start putting in place now in order to live a healthy balanced life and still attain success.
Something which many believe is impossible, she shows us how.

One of the first books which inspired me to wake up, even when I didn’t feel like.
One of the first books which inspired me to get rid of the excuses.
This book by Mel Robbins tells us about her story.
How she felt so bad about her present situation.
How she spent most of her days, suckling and hating her life.
Then on one morning after watching a rocket take off.
She decided to follow the steps of the rocket and get out of bed within the first 5 seconds of waking before her brain kicked in with so many excuses not to.
She also shares stories of people all over the world who have used the 5- second rule to start up new business and work on new ideas.
They were able to use this rule to fight back the excuses which told them not to and they found great success.
I was inspired to know more about Mel Robbins and this rule when I watched her viral TED talk.
6. The 7 Habits of highly effective people
This book was written by the late Stephen Covey.
He was an American educator, author, businessman and keynote speaker.
In this book the late Stephen Covey, shared 7 habits which all successful people have in common.
- Be proactive
- Begin with the end in mind.
- Put first things first.
- Think win/win
- Seek first to understand, then be understood.
- Sharpen the saw.
He recounted stories of instances when these habits were applicable and how we can all start to make them part of us.
He even tells of instances when he or others failed to apply these habits and the negative impact it had on their lives.
7. Rich dad, poor dad
This book was recommended to me by my elder brother who had just finished the book and was so impressed by the potential of the book to change the way we think about making money.
In this book, Robert Kiyosaki, author, businessman shares some of the lessons he learned growing up from the two dad figures in his life.
One was a poor, civil servant, while the other dad was a businessman.
Growing up and spending time with both of these men, he got to see the differences in the mentality and the way of life which made one dad rich and the other poor.

This is a book which tells us so many stories of entrepreneurs who started their business with very little income.
This is a book for all of us who feel money is what is holding us back from taking action on that idea we have been having for years.
This book was written by Chris Guillebeau.
An American non-fiction author, blogger, and speaker.
He is best known for his blog, the art of non-conformity.
Chris Guillebeau did a great job finding a wide range of successful entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs with varying degrees of success and different fields.
This book will strengthen your belief that if they can, then you can.
All you need to do is follow the footsteps of the entrepreneurs cited and start with what you have.
9. The power of the subconscious mind
This was the book which introduced me to all we can accomplish with the help of our subconscious mind.
In this book, the late Joseph Murphy encourages us to be mindful of our thoughts.
It also highlights several ways in which we can change our mental reflex to positive thoughts.
He tells us the various steps we need to take to get what we desire.
While reminding us of the importance of eliminating limiting beliefs.
Then he concludes with a reminder not to give up on our dreams, no matter how long the realization of them takes.

This book was recommended to me by Tim Bilyeu.
The co-founder of quest nutrition, the second fastest growing private company in North America on the Inc 5000 for 2014.
He also has a youtube channel, Impact theory with over 900 thousand subscribers.
A channel where he interviews numerous successful people in various fields.
This book by Standford university psychologist, Dr. Carol S. Dweck, tell us to transform the way we look at failure and our present shortcomings.
She cites several people we consider to be highly successful, how they grew into the excellence we see today.
They were not born with those incredible abilities, they worked, failed, worked until they attained the degree of excellence we all see today.
She also shows us real-life examples of how having a growth mindset transformed people’s character for the better.
This is an absolute must read for every entrepreneur.
Girl Wash Your Face By Rachel Hollis
In this book, she tells us about her journey to success.
The good, the bad, the ugly, she tells it all.
I have never read a book, so fearlessly honest.
She makes us know we are not alone on our journey and our flaws.
Her honesty tells us that, contrary to popular belief, successful people are not perfect people.
So don’t think you don’t deserve success because of the flaws you have.
All you need do is have the will and desire to work on them.
