Why You Have No Friends.
So you might be at that point in your life when you have no friends because;
- There friends you used to have, were negative and detrimental to the achievement of your goals, so you decided to create some space and you stop being invited to the parties
- No one thinks you are cool enough.
Whatever the reason is, always keep in mind this quote by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe “The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone “
1. Watch Movies.
So the first thing on my list on how to stay happy when you have no friends is watching movies.
I travel to the movie world, the choose my favorite character, who usually has awesome friends, who show her unconditional love and I mentally live her life for a while.
This really helps me forget my present reality which is filled with a feeling of loneliness.
2. Read Books.
The next thing on the list on how to stay happy when you don’t have friends is reading a book. My top recommendation is self-help books.
In some of these books, you get to know more about the lives of people you admire and how they experienced a friendless period. Fortunately, it all gets better with time.

- Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose.
- Walter Isaacson: The Genius Biographies: Benjamin Franklin, Einstein, and Steve Jobs by Simon & Schuster.
3.Work Towards Your Goals.
This is actually the best time to work on your goals. The more you work on your goals and achieve, the more you see the bright side of not having friends. This not only leads to present happiness but it leads to a happier, successful future.
This is the time to take the opportunity to build your foundation, which entails you giving up on partying and several fun activities. Having friends makes it harder to do.
This is a very important one for me. Being close to your family members is definitely how to be happy when you have no friends.
One of the reasons why we feel unhappy when we have no friends is due to feelings of loneliness. If you are close to your family members, then this will go a long way to diminish these feelings.
Friends come and go, family is always there. They are those who know your flaws and shortcoming and still love you.
Some of us are very lucky to have families like that and if you are one of those, count your blessings and take advantage of that.
Sometimes indecisiveness can leave us in a confused, unhappy state. Call your mum and talk through making that tough life-changing decision.
5. Have A Dance Party.
I really love this one, having a one-person party is definitely how to be happy when you have no friends. Like the saying by Tatiana Maslany goes “Have fun, be yourself, enjoy life and stay positive ”
I actually have more fun dancing alone at home than when I go to parties. I always feel so self-conscious during parties and uncomfortable to do all my crazy, weird dance moves, which bring me so much joy.
So if you have no friends and you want to have a party, by all means, have the time of your life. Turn up the music, sing along, no worries about your vocal potentials, dance like no one is watching cause actually no one is, have a blast.
6. Fantasize An Awesome Future.
They encourage you to visualize your goals. Going into a state of mind where you feel like your dreams have already happened, which will definitely make you happy.
This act is a way to communicate your needs to the universe, thereby putting in motion events which lead to the accomplishment of your goals.
So this puts you in a present happy state of mind and if you visualize having good, ride or die friends, your thoughts will help make them a reality, with your assistance.
7. Avoid Social Media.
The next point on my list of how to be happy when you have no friends is inspired from my 21 days social media cleanse.
I just completed this journey about 3 days ago but I have still not scrolled through my Facebook or Instagram feeds. I just like my present state of mind, not feeling unhappy with my life due to the things other people have like friends or experiences like going on vacations.
So trust me it will do you so much good if you don’t go looking for mental issues online.
I think it is also important I mention you could actually create a positive feed update on Instagram like following uplifting, motivational hashtags or people who inspire you to do better. You could also take advantage of positive Facebook groups like Success Insider, get involved in a community of like-minded people.
8. Start Keeping A Journal.
Okay, the next thing on my list on how to stay happy when you have no friends is having a paperback best friend. Something you could confide in and let out all your worries to.
Unhappiness without friends can also be due to the lack of someone to confide in, someone who can give you relatable advice. You could be your own best friend and you could talk things over with yourself. These self-talks are very efficient when you write it down.
Motivational content; podcast, videos and so much more is definitely one of the most important things which keeps me going even when I feel lonely.
It reminds me of my “why” and that it gets better. This makes me hopeful and happier.

If I Had A Choice.
At the end of the day, if I was given the choice between no friends or friends, my choice will depend on the type of friend. Positive friends are at the top of my list, followed by no friends.
So when you have that opportunity to create a positive bond, don’t pass that up because you are having so much fun being alone. I know, I am sometimes tempted to but trust me once you make the effort towards creating that positive bond, it is so worth it.
